Company Recognized for Leadership in Providing Opportunities for Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses
OVERLAND PARK, KS--(Marketwired - October 05, 2016) - The Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) has selected Black & Veatch as Kansas Corporation of the Year for its leadership and the opportunities its supplier diversity program provides for minority- and women-owned businesses.

In the past two years, Black & Veatch has procured products and services or contracted with more than 100 diverse businesses in the United States. Suppliers interested in being part of the program are able to register for consideration on the company's website.
The company participates in Matchmaker events where potential suppliers present their capabilities to project teams. Black & Veatch works closely with its clients' supplier diversity staffs to include diverse suppliers in the project bid process. The company is also active in various organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, and the Kansas City Chamber's Diversity & Inclusion to promote building supplier diversity.
