Support for Arts and Culture in New Brunswick's Acadian Community

Government of Canada supports the Association Acadienne des Artistes Professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick

DIEPPE, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - July 15, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Robert Goguen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament (Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe), today announced funding of $160,000 ($80,000 in 2014-2015 and $80,000 in 2015-2016) for the Association Acadienne des Artistes Professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This funding from the Development of Official-Language Communities Program will support AAAPNB's 2014-2016 programming. It will enable the association to update its professional resource centre, which provides artists and the community with a wide range of tools to promote the growth and success of arts and culture. In addition, AAAPNB will continue to coordinate implementation of the Global Strategy for the Integration of Arts and Culture into Acadian Society in New Brunswick. In this role, the association will support stakeholders in various activities, act as liaison between the various partners involved, and facilitate their action by developing new tools and carrying out research.
