Support for Culture in Lac-Megantic

LAC-MÉGANTIC, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 9, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and M.P for Mégantic-L'Érable, today announced $40,000 in funding over two years ($20,000 in 2015-2016 and $20,000 in 2016-2017) for the Comité culturel Mégantic. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This funding, granted by the Government of Canada under the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will support the art presenter's activities and enrich its programming.

• The Comité culturel Mégantic presents a wide range of performances at Auditorium Montignac, Cabaret Montignac and Église Sainte-Agnès.
• Programming for 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 includes some 20 dance, comedy, music, singing and theatre performances.
