Support for Quebec Communities: Municipality of Saint-Flavien Receives Funding


SAINT-FLAVIEN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 18, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Comnmunities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the Municipality of Saint-Flavien has been granted funding for improvements to a building housing two community halls.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a $29,195 non-repayable financial contribution through the Local Investment Initiative (LII), a component of CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • This funding will enable the Municipality of Saint-Flavien to replace the exterior siding, all the outside doors and windows as well as the air conditioning system, improve wall insulation and repair the porch.
  • The LII, a temporary initiative specific to CED, helps promote long-term economic capacity-building in Quebec communities.
  • This initiative stimulates local investment while ensuring citizens have access to safer and more functional community halls that are better suited to their needs.
