Exhibition in Beijing

LONDON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 1, 2005 -- Hosted by the China Electricity Council and with the support of senior leaders in virtually every sector of the Chinese power generating community, China Power 2005 is set to become a key part of China's future electric power generation and transmission plans. Major industrial suppliers, financial organizations, professional engineers as well as both American and European government agencies are all planning to attend the conference and exhibition to be held at the Kerry Center in Beijing August 10-11, 2005.

The importance of the two-day event can be gauged by its sponsor list, which includes virtually every important government authority and private energy organization in the People's Republic of China. Along with invaluable briefings on policy, regulatory and technical-operational aspects of the exploding Chinese power generation marketplace, conference delegates will gain access to leaders within government authorities and private corporations.

Event sponsors from the government sector include: the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, State Environmental Protection Administration of China, and the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Supporting non-governmental enterprises, which are playing an increasingly important role in the rapidly privatizing Chinese marketplace, include: State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid Co. Ltd, China Huaneng Group, China Datang Corporation, China Guodian Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Power Investment Corporation, Shen Hua Group, China GuangDong Nuclear Power Holding Co. Ltd, China Three Gorges Project Corporation, GuangDong Yudean Group Co. Ltd, and Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group Company Ltd.

Both public and private sponsoring organizations attending the event will represent extraordinary opportunities for global and in-country suppliers to develop new business.

Equipment and service providers in the manufacturing, financial and construction sectors will find China Power '05 Conference and Exhibition the ideal place to make valuable contacts and do business. Fifty-plus companies from Asia, the EU and US as well as from the emerging Chinese electric power industry will be in attendance at the Kerry Center for the exhibition component of China Power. These will include major global suppliers such as AAB, AG Power Generation, Black & Veach, Pratt & Whitney, and Siemens who will showcase the technology products and management tools that China will need to achieve its planned capacity of 950 GW by 2020, from a base of 440 GW in 2004.

Trend-setting keynote addresses planned for August 10 will feature major in-country and collaborating international agencies, including the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA), State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Eurelectric and the China Electricity Council.

Conference sessions at China Power will cover such critical areas as power plant generation technology, plant operations and services. Energy resource and environmental management are also on the agenda. A special highlight of the conference will focus on energy market trends, finance and planning.
