Support Pledged in ICare4autism Tribute Lunch on Capitol Hill


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - The International Center for Autism Research and Education (ICare4autism), a New York City-based non-profit organization, announced the support of a diverse group of Congressional leaders, and a leading private philanthropist, for its plan to create the world's first Global Autism Center on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, Israel. 

The support was pledged at a tribute lunch in the historic Lyndon B. Johnson Room of the United States Senate on March 16th. Attendees included Senators Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn) and Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Representatives Ted Deutch (D-Fla), Charles Rangel (D-NY) and Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), and J. Morton Davis, Chairman of D.H. Blair Investment Banking Corporation. 

The Global Autism Center's mission is to catalyze breakthrough innovation in autism research and treatment by driving powerful multidisciplinary collaborations among the world's leading investigators, educators and clinicians. The Center is supported by Jerusalem's Mayor Nir Barkat, and ICare4autism has launched a four-year campaign to raise the $50,000,000 needed to complete the project.
