Support for Quebec Communities: Municipality of Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbiniere Receives Funding to Renovate and Improve Access to Its Community Hall

Project will help upgrade the community hall, the only large venue in Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbiniere and thus an important local community asset

SAINTE-AGATHE-DE-LOTBINIÈRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 20, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the Municipality of Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière has been granted funding to renovate and improve its local community hall.

This assistance is being awarded in the form of a $75,949 non-repayable financial contribution through the Local Investment Initiative (LII), a component of CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • The funding will enable the Municipality to carry out essential renovations (main entrance, ceiling repairs and adapted bathroom) and make other improvements to the building, such as installing an elevator platform for persons with reduced mobility. Storage spaces for organizations are also being added to better meet the needs of the facility's users.
  • The LII, a temporary initiative specific to CED, helps promote economic development capacity-building for the long-term benefit of Quebec communities.
  • This initiative stimulates local investment while ensuring citizens have access to safer and more functional community halls that are better suited to their needs.
