"Synchro Canada is extremely grateful for the hosting support received from the Government of Canada for the FINA Synchronised Swimming World Cup 2014. Hosting international competitions is an important part of elite athlete development and preparation as it exposes many Canadians to world-class competition in sports they do not see every day. It allows for training of coaches, officials and volunteers to enhance the sustainability of the sport in Canada as well as provides Canadian athletes the inspiring opportunity to challenge the world's best in front of a home-town audience. In addition to sport specific gains, international events generate significant economic impact in the host communities-lasting legacies of this much appreciated investment by the Government of Canada."
