Softball Canada receives Government of Canada funding to host international tournament


WHITEHORSE, YUKON--(Marketwired - July 11, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Ryan Leef, Member of Parliament (Yukon), on behalf of the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced $150,000 in funding for Softball Canada. This funding, provided through Sport Canada's Hosting Program, supports the hosting of the 10th International Softball Federation (ISF) Junior Men's World Championship.

The championship will be held in Whitehorse, Yukon, from July 11 to 20, 2014.

  • The Canadian Amateur Softball Association, commonly known as Softball Canada, is recognized as the national governing body for softball. Founded in 1965, it is a not-for-profit national sport organization based in Ottawa.
