Squash Canada receives Government of Canada funding to host the Women's World Team Squash Championship 2014


NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 6, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), is attending and speaking at the Women's World Team Squash Championship 2014 banquet.

Rick Dykstra, Member of Parliament (St. Catharines), is also taking part in the medals ceremony.

  • The Women's World Team Squash Championship 2014 is a test event for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.
  • Squash Canada is receiving $150,000 through Sport Canada's Hosting Program to host the Women's World Team Squash Championship 2014.
  • For the fiscal year 2014-2015, Sport Canada is providing up to $451,500 to Squash Canada through its Sport Support Program and $79,200 through the Athlete Assistance Program (for eight athletes), for a total of $530,700.
