Supreme Court of Canada-Pathway Closure

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 12, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to inform pedestrians and cyclists of a closure to a section of the Ottawa River Pathway due to maintenance.

Maintenance work will be conducted on the cliff located directly behind the Supreme Court of Canada building. The section of the Ottawa River Pathway that stretches behind the building will be temporarily closed during this time to ensure the safety of recreational pathway users. Closure of the pathway is planned as follows:

  • From Tuesday, June 16, to Saturday, July 4, 2015.

Please note, however, that the pathway will be open all day on June 24 for Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and on July 1 until 4 p.m. for Canada Day.

During the closure, recreational pathway users will not have access to this section of the Ottawa River Pathway and are encouraged to use alternate routes. It is recommended that cyclists detour via Laurier Avenue's dedicated bicycle lane.

General information regarding the recreational pathways can be found on the National Capital Commission's website and on the City of Ottawa website.

Closure of the recreational pathway is necessary to conduct maintenance work.

The schedule may change due to weather conditions.

PWGSC thanks users for their patience.
