Supreme Group and Williams Engineering Launch WE-Supreme Joint Venture in Haiti

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI--(Marketwire - Jan. 11, 2011) -

The WE-Supreme Joint Venture is a long-term project launched by Canadian firms Supreme Group and Williams Engineering International to assist with redevelopment work in Haiti. This long-term initiative is designed to make a positive impact on Haiti's socio-economic status. The project includes engineering services, as well as the construction and operation of a new steel fabrication facility.

WE-Supreme's Joint Venture will help create an educated and well-trained Haitian workforce. The proposed steel fabrication facility is expected to create jobs for over 100 Haitian citizens, with on-the- job training being provided. The facility's first priority will be fabricating components for multi-storey housing, educational facilities, hospitals, government buildings, emergency response buildings, and commercial/industrial applications. These structures will be built to North American seismic and safety standards, but will be completed with local labour.
