SurfControl CIO Max Rayner to Present at WCIT 2006

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 2, 2006 -- SurfControl (LSE: SRF), the global leader in Internet protection, today announced that Max Rayner, SurfControl's EVP of Products & Services and CIO, will address the World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT) 2006 which takes place from May 1-5, at the Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas.

The 15th World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2006) is the flagship event of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) where preeminent global leaders in technology, business, and government from over 80 countries will discuss and debate the means through which emerging and established technologies can be used to address issues of global impact.

Rayner's presentation starts at 11:50 am on Wednesday, May 3 and Thursday, May 4. He will be presenting alongside luminaries such as General Colin Powell (Ret.), former US Secretary of State, Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, Michael Dell, Chairman of Dell and Paul Otellini, CEO of Intel.

This year has proven to be yet another banner year for security breaches that affect millions of private citizens, shareholders and members of the workforce. Why are so many companies throwing money at efforts to remediate phishing, spyware, and malware when these threats are merely symptoms of a much larger issue?

Rayner will discuss Internet protection as it relates to information security, the tension between freedom and privacy and license and anonymity, and the need to manage employee behavior. His talk will highlight how SurfControl is leading the shift from strictly peripheral security to proactive internal management and control of network resources access and use.
