Survey Reveals 80 Percent of J.D. Edwards Licensees Considering Third-Party Maintenance and Support

BRYAN, Texas--(CCNMatthews - Sep 14, 2005) -

Lower Cost and Better Quality Support Cited As Main Reasons to Switch From Vendor Maintenance Program

TomorrowNow, Inc., the leading third-party provider of maintenance and support services for PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards solutions, announced today that more than 80 percent of J.D. Edwards licensees surveyed believe they're paying too much for their maintenance and support and would consider a third-party provider, according to an independent study released by Knowledge Infusion, a strategic consulting organization.

"The results of this survey validate what we've been hearing from the marketplace," said Andrew Nelson, president and CEO of TomorrowNow. "We enjoy working closely with the J.D. Edwards community, including clients such as Praxair and Koontz Wagner, and look forward to enabling more J.D. Edwards licensees worldwide to extend the life of their current systems."

Participants in the survey include J.D. Edwards licensees' CIOs, CFOs and top IT professionals, according to Knowledge Infusion. The survey further revealed that nearly 87 percent of the respondents consider their J.D. Edwards applications mature and stable. Additionally, 87 percent said they were satisfied with their current J.D. Edwards solutions and expressed concern over the uncertainty of their products' future and potential new requirements for their technology platforms. In fact, 48 percent of those surveyed said their greatest concern was that they'd be forced to migrate to the Oracle database as a result of recent consolidation in the industry.

Of those respondents who said they were not satisfied with their vendor-based maintenance and support, 47 percent were looking for a lower cost of service, and more than 30 percent would like to see more responsive service.

"We switched to TomorrowNow to save cost on maintenance and support for our current J.D. Edwards software," says Paul Witek, Chief Financial Officer, Koontz-Wagner, a current TomorrowNow client. "But the quality and expertise we receive from their services exceeds our expectations."

TomorrowNow provides J.D. Edwards licensees with a value-driven alternative that saves them up to 50 percent in annual maintenance and support fees.
