Susan Martinovich, Former NDOT Director, Joins CH2M HILL as Highway/Bridge Director for North America

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - Nov 7, 2012) - CH2M HILL (www.ch2mhill.com), a global full-service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm, is pleased to announce that Susan Martinovich, PE, former Director of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), has joined CH2M HILL as Director of the firm's top 5 ranked (Engineering-News Record) North America Highway/Bridge business.

Martinovich's industry-leading surface transportation experience was formed at NDOT, where she worked for more than 28 years, rising to the ranks of Director in 2007. In that role, she supervised the daily operations of the Department, including an annual operating budget of almost $700 million and 1,800 employees.

Martinovich is also past President of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) -- the first woman to hold the position -- and she serves on the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board (TRB) Executive Committee.

"From my perspective, we could not have found a better candidate in the marketplace to lead our Highway/Bridge business," said CH2M HILL's Transportation President, Terry Ruhl. "Susan is highly respected throughout the industry, and in her tenure with NDOT, she led the agency to the forefront of developing high-level visionary and cutting-edge strategies for the future of surface transportation. She is also a strong advocate for alternative project delivery and transportation funding mechanisms to ensure continued investment in the nation's infrastructure."

In her Director role with CH2M HILL, Martinovich will be responsible for establishing the North America Highway/Bridge strategy; stewarding federal, state, county, municipal, and private client relationships; identifying/analyzing market trends; and fostering the development of new technologies and services to meet clients' needs.

In addition, Martinovich is helping to steward and foster CH2M HILL's professional relationships with organizations such as the Women's Transportation Seminar, American Road & Transportation Builders Association, AASHTO, and the TRB.

Martinovich was recently honored as a White House Champion of Change for her contributions to transportation innovation in America, and she will be honored with a 2012 Distinguished Leadership Award at the National Design-Build Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 7-9.
