Sustainable Energy Has Engaged the Former Director of SMA America to Aid in Accelerating Sales and Marketing Strategy in the US

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 8, 2011) - Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd (TSX VENTURE:STG) ("Sustainable Energy") is pleased to announce the retention of Mr. Sam Vanderhoof, a solar industry veteran, former director of SMA America and former VP Sales and marketing for Trace/Xantrex to assist Sustainable Energy in efficiently rolling out their sales and marketing strategy in the United States.

"Sustainable Energy has a compelling value proposition which I believe has the potential to be a winner in several key US markets," said Vanderhoof. "It is the only product of which I am aware that offers the performance and flexibility advantages of the micro-inverter with the price point and serviceability of conventional string inverters."

An industry veteran with more than 30 years in the US solar inverter industry Vanderhoof, former Director of SMA America, Inc, was integral in the development and execution of the SMA entry to the US market. He has also previously held the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Trace/Xantrex Engineering.

"Sam's review and validation of our integrator based strategy suggests we are on the exact path to success. Once the slowdown in the Ontario market become apparent, we immediately moved to accelerate our sales and marketing platform in the US and reduce our exposure to Ontario" said Michael Carten CEO of Sustainable Energy. "we have already converted more than 57% volume shift to the US and are projecting over 80% by years end, leveraging the two largest US markets – California and New Jersey.

Sustainable has seen over 50% of their volume move into the United States through their current channels and have set in place a well laid out roadmap to accelerate this build out into the US market. The Company also announced that Axel Hartung is no longer Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Sustainable Energy.

About Sustainable Energy:

Sustainable Energy (www.SustainableEnergy.com) is Canada's solar inverter company. The Company's patented inverter technologies are a breakthrough in power inverter design and capabilities for all forms of distributed generation and smart grid applications. The SUNERGYTM inverter is the industry's only grid-interactive solar inverter which enables a "parallel" solar PV system architecture in higher power ratings at a cost and serviceability factor that is comparable to conventional inverters in the market. The benefits of parallel solar are: (i) 5% - 25% higher total system power output; (ii) a better fill factor enabling better coverage of available space; (iii) a simplified system design and installation; and (iv) the safety of extra low operating voltages which ensures the safety of building maintenance personnel, first responders, and tradesmen who may accidentally come into contact with system wiring. Sustainable Energy's technologies are the subject of multiple patents issued by and pending with the Canadian and US Patent Offices. Follow us on Twitter @SunergySTG
