Sustainable Energy Partners with tenKsolar Inc to Deliver Unique Integrated AC Solar Generator for Commercial/Institutional Rooftop Market

Partnership Accelerates Sustainable Energy's Entry into US Solar Market

- SUNERGY enabled tenKsolar's RAIS™ Wave systems deliver light-weight non-penetrating rooftop systems with 20% to 50% greater energy density for commercial rooftop solar

- Delivering on initial orders for 1.2 MW of SUNERGY inverters with minimum 14 MW forecast for 2011 puts Sustainable ahead of schedule for US market entry

- Companies to co-market systems under RAIS™WAVE and/or PARALEX™ brand names

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 8, 2010) - Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd (TSX VENTURE:STG) ("Sustainable Energy") and tenKsolar Inc jointly announced today that they will partner to deliver tenKSolar's breakthrough RAIS™ Wave solar PV system for commercial and institutional flat rooftop applications.

The RAIS™ Wave system integrates inverter technology from Sustainable Energy and is attracting significant attention from US installers and developers as a non-penetrating integrated rooftop solution that provides 20% to 50% greater energy density. The system can also be installed at one of the lowest weights per sq ft in the industry.

"The extra low voltage, parallel design of the SUNERGYinverter represents the leading edge in high reliability solar design and is a key enabler of our RAIS™ Wave system. With the SUNERGY inverter our commercial rooftop solar energy systems set a new standard for reliability and energy yield for large scale solar arrays," said Joel Cannon CEO of tenKsolar.

"The tenKsolar approach represents the future of solar PV - a modular, fully integrated parallel design which can be easily installed and maintained by mainstream building trades with a much lower cost of installation and an overall lower cost of ownership to the building owner." said Michael Carten Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy. "We are very excited to be able to contribute to this step forward in solar power system design"

The companies announced purchase orders for the RAIS™WAVE system totaling 1.0 MW from the Stuart C Irby Company ( a division of Sonepar US ( a leading US electrical distributor, bringing total orders to date to approximately 1.2 MW. tenKsolar is currently forecasting an average 1 MW per month for 2011 with the potential for larger volumes in the latter part of 2011.

This is an important milestone in our strategy to position SUNERGY's parallel system architecture for distribution in the US in 2011," added Carten. "The partnership with tenKsolar and the orders from one of the leading US electrical distributors will provide valuable exposure in the significant US commercial rooftop market and accelerate our entry into the US ahead of schedule."

Based on a recently published report by IMS Research (July 2010), the Companies estimate the addressable market for SUNERGY™ and the RAIS™WAVE system in the US alone at more than 1,800 MW over the next 4 years. In Europe, the commercial rooftop market represents approximately 50% of all installations, according to IMS Research. The Companies have agreed to collaborate in developing product applications and co-marketing system under the RAIS™WAVE and/or PARALEX brand name.

About tenKsolar, Inc: tenKsolar ( designs, manufactures and markets unique photovoltaic systems which provide the highest kilowatt hour production per unit area at the lowest cost per kilowatt hour. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, tenKsolar has announced its RAIS™ Wave system which combines PV modules, reflectors and racking configured in a repeating wave pattern to provide the highest density energy producing system for flat roof or ground mount systems. tenKsolar's proprietary Cell Optimizing architecture makes its modules more efficient and unique in their ability to generate energy from all available light, whether direct, diffuse or reflected. By designing both the module and its proprietary filtering reflector as structural components in the Wave, tenKsolar has developed a low cost system which requires no roof penetration, is self ballasting and is easy to quickly install.

About Sustainable Energy: Sustainable Energy designs, manufactures and distributes power inverters for grid-connected solar PV systems. Advanced power inverters are a critical enabler of all modern solar PV power systems converting the direct current ("DC") power output of the solar PV modules into the high quality alternating current ("AC") power required by the power grid. Advanced power inverters also optimize the performance of the solar PV modules and maintain the integrity and safety of the interconnection with the power grid.

The extra low operating voltage (50v – 100v) of the SUNERGY ELV platform enables a system architecture that is inherently safe and that can be installed and maintained by most building trades without the need for PV specialists, significantly reducing the installed system cost and increasing investor yields. The SUNERGY inverter is rated for operating conditions ranging from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 50 degrees Celsius.

Sustainable Energy's technologies are the subject of multiple patents issued by and pending with the US Patent and Canadian Patent Offices
