SUV Rollover Accident Lawyer Johnson Sees No Decline Despite Increased Safeguards

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - June 12, 2007) - SUV rollover accident lawyer Nick Johnson of Johnson Law Group, with principal offices in Houston, Texas, stated today that despite attempts at increased safeguards by the automotive industry, he has seen no decline in the amount of SUV rollover cases this year. He does not expect to see a decline in 2008 as well.

According to the NHTSA, dramatic improvements have been made in new SUVs to help decrease the risk of rollovers. SUVs are becoming more stable as automakers change designs and add anti-rollover technology. However, it may be years before the vehicle improvements reduce deaths from SUV rollover accidents, because older models with a higher risk will remain on the road.

"The automakers have certainly taken a step in the right direction by improving SUV rollover safety," says Johnson. "However, there are still too many of these unsafe older SUVs on the road. In addition, there is no real testing available on how the new vehicles protect passengers once a rollover begins."

According to USA today, while rollovers account for less than 3% of all crashes, they cause a third of all traffic-related deaths, killing 10,411 people in the United States in 2004, according to the most recent federal data.

Johnson Law Group is also headquartered in Houston, Texas and concentrates in the areas of rollover/car accidents, Fen Phen and Paxil pharmaceutical cases, mesothelioma cancer and nursing home abuse. More information may be found at
