Swimming Pigs Get Red Carpet Treatment at Film Festival

Jarrod Knowles' WideScreen Film and Music Video Festival Launch

AVENTURA, FL--(Marketwired - February 27, 2015) - Today marks the grand launch of Bahamian-born, Jarrod Knowles' WideScreen Film and Music Video Festival. Jarrod seeks to provide an outlet for true artists and creative geniuses. As he puts it, "there are so many creative individuals around town, throughout south Florida, throughout the world…" He goes on to say, "The WideScreen Film and Music Video Festival seeks to give film makers and artists the opportunity to shine…to have their work displayed on the big screen…"

But Jarrod will not be alone on his quest. For the inaugural launch, he'll have help from the smash-hit Bahamian documentary, "When Pigs Swim", directed by Bahamian Charlie Smith, when two of the swimming piggies will join him and everyone at the festival premier.

"We believe this event is a marvelous display of true Bahamian marvel. Jarrod represents the new generation of Bahamian talent and entrepreneurship, while the pigs…well the pigs are just fun", said Craig Woods, Bahamas Film Commissioner, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

The documentary has been getting a lot of notoriety since its release in 2014. The loveable pigs have become a top attraction of Exuma Island. Today, visitors from all over the world travel to Exuma for an opportunity unlike anywhere else…swimming with pigs. On Sunday, March 1st at 4PM, two of these adorable piggies will be basking in the limelight as they walk the red carpet.

Jarrod and the swimming pigs will be joined by other Bahamian talents, the likes of which include Dwight Harris and his film 'Perfect Feet', Kareem Mortimer -- 'Passage', Travon Patton & Tony McCartney -- 'Dream', Winston Marshall -- 'Up & Down', and Lavado Stubbs -- 'Happy' (Bahamas Version).
