Sydnee Michaels, Former UCLA Captain of Women's Golf, Starts Q-School for LPGA

TEMECULA, CA--(Marketwire - September 15, 2010) -  Sydnee Michaels, Former UCLA Captain of Women's golf, announced today that she is competing in the West Coast qualifying tournament known as "Q-school," to obtain full status with the LPGA. The tournament is taking place at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California from September 14 to 17, 2010. There are 112 Players in the West coast competition from 21 countries and an equal amount of competitors later in the East Coast qualifying tournament. All players will be battling for 30 spots for the LPGA final qualifying tournament set for December 8th through 12th in Daytona Beach, Florida, to gain full status with LPGA. The California qualification tournament is a four day, four round competition and will encompass 72 holes.

On September 10, 2010, Miss Michaels took home first place prize money after winning the Sun Coast Series Tournament, Professional Division. She scored 3 under par after the 4 day stroke tournament.

This win was a great complement to her debut experience, making the cut and money in the 2010 Canadian Women's Open. Sydnee is ready to take the next step.
