Symbio Group Appoints Jacob Hsu CEO


ROCKVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - November 19, 2007) - The Symbio Group ("Symbio") (www.symbio-group.com), a leading provider of software development, testing, and globalization outsourcing services, announced today that Jacob Hsu was named Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hsu was previously Symbio's President and has served as a senior executive at the company for more than nine years. Mr. Hsu fills the CEO position previously held by Richard Lee, who will become the Vice Chairman of Symbio.

As CEO, Mr. Jacob Hsu will lead Symbio's global operations and expansion into new business areas. In his 9 years at Symbio, Mr. Hsu has served as President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director of the company's North American operations.

During his tenure as President, Mr. Hsu established two first-of-a-kind university-level software engineering institutes in Weihai, China, to help address the global talent shortage. He signed groundbreaking agreements with the China Weihai Municipal Government, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) at Weihai, and Shandong University at Weihai, to establish The Symbio Software Engineering Institutes in Weihai, China.

Mr. Hsu has also headed Symbio's operations in Japan, the United States, and China and led the company's investment and corporate development initiatives. At Thunderchief Software, a Symbio Group company specializing in software product development, Mr. Hsu served as CEO and Managing Director. He also founded and served as Managing Director at Symbio Digital Entertainment, another Symbio Group company, focused on game outsourcing and development. Mr. Hsu is globally recognized as an expert on software outsourcing in China and is frequently called upon to serve as a spokesman for the industry.

Prior to joining Symbio, Mr. Hsu was the CEO of Trilogica Technologies, a pioneer in the area of data aggregation and web integration software. Before that, he was an investment banker at a number of firms, including Fox-Pitt, Kelton (FPK), where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business.
