Symform and KOMO Newsradio Debut "CloudCast" Radio Series

Program Designed to Educate Seattle Business Owners on Benefits of the Cloud and Foster Local Business Adoption of Cloud Computing Solutions

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jun 4, 2012) - Symform, a revolutionary cloud storage and backup service, and KOMO Newsradio today launched a new educational radio series called "CloudCast." The CloudCast program provides an educational overview of cloud computing, best practices, and helpful tips for Seattle's business community. Airing Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 6:27 a.m. (Seattle time) on KOMO Newsradio 1000 AM/97.7 FM and Smart Talk 570 KVI, CloudCast is also available for live streaming at and on-demand on the Symform website.

"We came up with this idea for an educational business series focused on cloud computing following our recent involvement with the Seattle Cloud Fair conference, where it was clear the Seattle business community had a lot of questions, concerns and confusion around the cloud," said Scott Carty, Operations Manager, KOMO Newsradio. "Symform is the perfect partner for this series, as they are a local Seattle company delivering an innovative cloud storage solution and are dedicated to helping business leaders understand how to get more from technology."

With technology giants such as Amazon and Microsoft headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle area is becoming one of the largest technology hubs in the nation. Local companies are often early adopters, and while many are evaluating how the cloud can address their specific needs, the specifics -- such as what solution is right for what use cases, pricing considerations, and when and how to get started -- is not always so clear cut.

CloudCast will provide local business executives an understanding of what cloud computing means, the benefits, and how to get started. The series will cover the full spectrum of cloud topics, starting with an overview of what the cloud is and the different cloud platforms, to best practices for a move to the cloud, specific pain points and challenges, and how to manage a portfolio of cloud solutions. The series will also discuss more advanced topics such as virtualization, cloud security and big data.

CloudCast is hosted by Margaret Dawson, a 20-year veteran of the tech industry and a former broadcast journalist who is also vice president of marketing and product management at Symform. Dawson is a frequent author and presenter on cloud computing, data management, network security, integration and other business and technology themes. She is on the leadership Steering Committee of the Cloud Network of Women (CloudNOW), the only tech-focused non-profit consortium of leading women executives in cloud computing, and the Cloud Connect 2012 Advisory Council.
