Synapse SNAP Pro Wireless Mesh Network Software Now Available for Embedded Designs
Synapse Makes SNAP Pro Available to OEMs Who Have Already Invested in Their Own Hardware Designs
| Source: Synapse Wireless, Inc.
HUNTSVILLE, AL--(Marketwire - June 18, 2008) - Synapse® today announced the availability
of its proven, wireless mesh network technology -- Synapse SNAP® Pro --
for companies that are designing embedded products needing fast, reliable
machine communication.
For less than 90 cents per node, the power of SNAP Pro can be ported to the
platforms chosen by companies who have already invested in their processor
and radio designs. They can now affordably complete their products with
SNAP Pro and avoid the cost, risk and length of time for protocol
development.
SNAP Pro mesh networks are self-forming, which means that the network
establishes itself. Every time a new node is powered up, it is
automatically integrated into the network. These networks are also
self-healing -- if a node fails for any reason, other nodes automatically
route signals around the failed node. SNAP Pro also supports AES-128
encryption for applications requiring robust security.
SNAP Pro provides easy application development and application portability
using an embedded Python-based virtual machine. Application scripts,
called SNAPpy scripts, are written in a high-level English-type language --
no embedded programming experience or knowledge of the network stack is
required. Companies can get their products to market faster, cheaper and
with confidence that their application will not affect the core network.
Written in optimized, portable, industry-standard ANSI C code, the SNAP Pro
software stack has been designed from the ground up for portability.
This high-performance stack is designed to run efficiently on
cost-effective 8-bit microprocessors. SNAP Pro has a very small memory
footprint of only 30 KB, thereby leaving more space for user applications.
