Synapse Wireless Doubles Revenue - Again

SNAP® Mesh Network Software Becoming the M2M Platform of Choice

HUNTSVILLE, AL--(Marketwire - August 19, 2009) - Synapse Wireless®, with continuing momentum in Internet-enabled, wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) mesh networks, today announced that revenue has doubled again in Q2 2009 for the second, consecutive quarter. Synapse's continuing revenue growth represents significant market confidence amidst the most challenging economy in over 50 years.

Synapse is seeing increasing design wins from OEMs who need reliable and secure wireless control and monitoring capabilities. This acceptance is spanning across industries, from Smart Grid applications to medical, asset management, industrial automation, and many more.

Fueling Synapse's growth is SNAP, its award winning wireless mesh network software technology. A SNAP solution offers everything needed for complete M2M solutions, including a seamless connection to the internet, Sleepy Mesh® for battery-powered mesh networking, AES encryption for added security, and over-the-air programming of devices.

"Panasonic looks forward to a continued growing relationship with Synapse," said Richard Trueman, Senior Product Manager, Panasonic Industrial Company. "In the coming months, Panasonic will introduce more new products featuring the SNAP platform, as SNAP's simple cost free development environment, efficient use of application space and internet capability has proven to be successful with our customers."

SNAP mesh network software is an auto-forming, multi-hop, mesh network stack combined with an embedded Python interpreter for running application code. SNAP is the industry's only solution that was designed from the ground up to work with TCP/IP for seamless connection to the Internet.

"The SNAP software is an ease-of-use sell," said Rich Howell, Director of Business Development for California Eastern Laboratories (CEL), a Synapse partner. "It makes the whole implementation much quicker, much more intuitive. It's really going to expand our market penetration and help our customers who are not experts in wireless to implement, install and maintain wireless networks."

"The complexity involved in creating wireless M2M applications has stymied the market for years," said Wade Patterson, CEO of Synapse Wireless. "SNAP has removed this network complexity by providing a platform where the user need only focus on their application. We are enabling the anticipated, explosive market growth behind M2M technology's promise, and our customer's are benefiting."

SNAP is not tied to any particular processor or radio. SNAP runs on RF modules from Panasonic, CEL, and Synapse's own Freescale-based RF Engines. These modules can all reside on the same SNAP network and communicate seamlessly -- no rewriting of applications is needed. SNAP technology is defining a standard for the marketplace.
