Synensis Offers Free Webinar on Improving Patient Safety

Synensis, a Leading Patient Safety Consulting and Training Firm, Will Present "3 Ways to Improve Your Teams' Safety Outcomes Through Simulation," on Thursday, June 18

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - June 12, 2015) - Improving patient safety is at the forefront of virtually every healthcare organization's strategic agenda, which is why Synensis, a patient safety consulting and training firm, is offering a free webinar featuring a leading physician champion on zero preventable harm, the company announced today.

The online event, "3 Ways to Improve Your Teams' Safety Outcomes Through Simulation," is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, June 18. The presenter, Stan Davis, MD, who is an expert in hospital simulation applications, will share his journey on how to use simulation to significantly improve clinical outcomes. He will focus on core tools that have been demonstrated to impact team behaviors, leading to changed cultures within entire hospital units that are healthier and supportive of reducing preventable harm.

Davis is an experienced medical team trainer and has served as lead physician trainer at several Navy and Army medical centers and hospitals. He has an extensive base of experience and affiliations in healthcare. A former staff OB-GYN at several hospitals and healthcare centers, as well as a former Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Davis has focused a great deal of attention on reproductive medicine, medical quality assurance and simulation. He is a Fellow member in the American College of OB-GYN and Medical Quality.

Davis will also provide several case studies from his own experience that provide insight into the importance of "practicing" patient care through simulation. The use of simulation has not only improved patient care, but also improved the culture of safety and staff buy-in to employ simulation and process improvement in their daily work.

Attendees will learn how to use simulation to produce reliable, repeatable behaviors that support your patient safety goals; strategies to improve outcomes through expert debriefing and the application of reflection practices; and how to use simulation to lead to substantive clinical improvements that save lives.
