Syngas International (OTCBB: SYNI) Applauds Former Fed Chief Greenspan's Support for Non-Oil Energy Alternatives

Highlights the Necessity for Cellulosic Ethanol

WASHINGTON, DC and LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 12, 2006 -- Syngas International Corp. (OTCBB: SYNI), an emerging leader in the development and production of hydrogen enriched alternative fuels in an environmentally responsible manner, is pleased to announce its support for the testimony given by former Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan.

In testimony given before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Greenspan stated that America needed to reduce its dependence on foreign oil or suffer damaging economic consequences. He further stated that the run up in oil prices has resulted in huge amounts of cash "to countries that are not friends of ours... This is a very serious issue."

He encouraged the private sector to investigate cellulosic ethanol as a better hope than the conventional corn based ethanol now being produced in the USA. Greenspan stated that using every bushel of corn in the USA for conventional corn based ethanol production would still only replace 10% of US gasoline consumption.

Syngas International (OTCBB: SYNI) is already investigating the promise of cellulosic ethanol using a catalytic conversion process through its proprietary PyStR process. Traditional research by others in the private sector has focused on using enzymes to ferment plant stocks for conversion to ethanol.

"We are certainly encouraged by Mr. Greenspan's words, as our own ethanol research focuses on cellulosic, rather than conventional ethanol production," stated Wilf Ouellette, President of Syngas International Corp.

The Company's PyStR technology was introduced to critical industry acclaim at the Big Hydrogen show hosted in Calgary, Alberta by the Canadian Hydrogen Association.
