Syntec's Catalyst Results Validated by Independent Third Party

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2010) - Syntec Biofuel Inc. (Syntec) (OTCBB:SYBF) is pleased to report that Dr. Kevin J. Smith head of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada has provided Syntec with a report based on the preliminary catalyst activity measurements that UBC made using one of Syntec's catalysts. Dr. Smith states that, "(sic. the results) compare favorably to data reported independently by Syntec Biofuel Inc." Dr. Smith further states that, "Good agreement between the Syntec and UBC product distribution data was observed." UBC is a highly respected academic institute that is doing extensive research and development in chemical engineering.

Mr. Jackson, CEO, says, "I am exceedingly pleased with the UBC results which support the fact that Syntec has a viable catalyst which can now be launched into a Pilot Plant that will be used as a showcase to license our technology for commercial application."

Syntec Biofuel Inc. is a chemical/fuel company whose core technology is the development of a proprietary (patent pending) thermo-chemical catalyst process that converts biomass (such as wood waste, agricultural waste, MSW and energy crops) into mixed alcohols (ethanol, methanol, propanol and butanol). The catalysts can also be used to convert syngas from natural gas, biogas and gasified coal into mixed alcohols.
