Syracuse Area Highway Contractor-Jana-Rock Construction-to Liquidate Equipment, Main Office Building, Shop, Yard, Tools and 185 Acres of Subdivided Land in an Unreserved Ritchie Bros. Auction

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK--(CCNMatthews - March 22, 2006) - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Incorporated (TSX:RBA)(NYSE:RBA) -

Highway Contracting Company, Jana-Rock Construction, Inc., has engaged Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers to sell its equipment, main office, shop, yard, tools and 185 +/- acres of subdivided land at 5165 Irish Ridge Road in Fenner, NY.

The complete dispersal includes hundreds of pieces of equipment including pavers, rollers, milling machines, dirt equipment and trucks and trailers. Also included are a main office, shop and yard, tools, road signs, cones, barrels, concrete barriers, millings and topsoil and 185 +/- acres of subdivided land.

"All of our pavers, rollers and milling machines, as well as the majority of our other equipment and trucks worked on major state highway and thruway projects last year, right up until November," said Rocky Luiere, President of Jana-Rock Construction, Inc. "We have been fortunate to have our large shop. It has allowed us to maintain our equipment in excellent condition and to keep our major milling and paving equipment inside over the winter months.

"This sale is bitter-sweet," he continued. "The country setting of our office brought serenity to the hectic pace of a highway contracting company. It is so peaceful that I also used it as my home when I was in New York. I will dearly miss this unique setting. On the other hand, the warm and thriving business setting of the southwest has presented a new and exciting venture for my family and me."

The Ritchie Bros. auction is unreserved, meaning every item will sell on sale day to the highest bidder, regardless of price. There are no minimum bids or reserve prices - the selling price is determined solely by the competitive bidding process. The auction is open to the public with free registration. Jana-Rock Construction, Inc. will continue to run its Las Vegas, Nevada operations after the auction.
