Sysload Software Reports 15% Growth, Reveals Strategy for the Virtual Infrastructure Performance Management Market

The Sysload Offering Is Based on Ultra High-Performance Data Acquisition Technology That Has Enabled the Company to Establish Itself in the Extremely Demanding Server Performance Analysis Market

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2008) - Sysload Software, the IT system performance and capacity management specialist, has released its results for 2007, reporting a 15% increase in total sales, a positive bottom line for the seventh year running, and the successful launch of a subsidiary on the US east coast. The company continues to pursue a policy of sustained, heavy investment in R&D, strengthening its position as the leader in the virtual infrastructure monitoring and optimization market. In its capacity as a VMware technology partner, Sysload will be attending the VMWorld Europe show in Cannes, February 26-28, 2008.

Sustained, ambitious growth

Sysload reported good results in 2007, with highlights including a 15% increase in total sales, fast revenue growth by the US subsidiary (which generated 9% of total sales in its first six months of existence) and a 25% rise in license sales. The company signed a number of major contracts, rolling out its expertise and building brand awareness among large customers in such areas as finance, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing and the public sector.

Capitalizing on the complexity and demanding nature of virtualization

Sysload has always had a flair for innovation, and was among the first to understand the technological significance of virtualization. Accordingly, the company heavily focused its R&D efforts on developing a range of solutions to address the specific challenges of managing virtual infrastructure. Sysload aims to assist with three main missions: providing a unified view of the data center, anticipating performance losses attributable to virtual machines, and preventing unnecessary proliferation of virtual machines. Sysload's knowledge of the monitoring constraints and failure risks specific to virtual infrastructure make the company the recognized expert in a market that is now entering the first stage of maturity.

"Implementing a server consolidation and virtualization policy implies a return to infrastructure performance and capacity management in systems that have very busy physical servers coexisting alongside large numbers of virtual machines, which are more complicated to understand," explains Jérôme de Monteil, Sysload CEO.

Staying on top of a fast-changing market

Sysload is a pioneer in the server performance and capacity management industry, and stands out from the competition for its multi-platform solutions that support heterogeneous hardware, operating systems and proprietary virtualization solutions (VMware, Sun, HP, IBM and XenSource). Sysload leverages software publishers' data by exploring operating system kernels in depth and recovering the parameters that characterize a particular environment in order to develop appropriate agents that are powerful but transparent in terms of their OS resource requirements.

The complexity and diverse nature of virtual infrastructure require a very fine analysis of the infrastructure's performance and the utilization of its constituent resources. Unlike with conventional agentless solutions, Sysload's real-time monitoring and analysis tools collect data at very high frequency rates, making it possible to identify malfunctions caused by micro-saturation events that go undetected by most other supervision products.

"Our strength lies in our ability to observe and constantly optimize very heterogeneous environments from a single console in order to deliver the desired service level, which has become the number one concern for businesses," says Jérôme de Monteil.

Building new partnerships

The Sysload offering has already won over many system integrators and IT services companies committed to providing powerful facility management and infrastructure supervision solutions. Building new technological partnerships, both in France and internationally, is proving to be a major growth vector for Sysload as the company seeks new major accounts. Existing agreements with service providers such as Thalès, GFI and Atos Origin, Devoteam and software publishers including ASG, Axway and Tevron are already bearing fruit.

Exporting unique expertise

Sysload is counting on the dynamism of its US subsidiary, which opened in Boston last July, to enhance its penetration of the American market and position the company as an international leader. In 2008, Sysload will be attending the next Gartner Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit, to be held in Orlando in June, as well as the CMG show in Las Vegas in December. Sysload has also begun to recruit partners to sell and deploy its solutions in northern Europe.
