SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jul 21, 2012) - Hundreds of people gathered smack in the middle of downtown Seattle this afternoon to enjoy a day at the beach! How? It was all made possible thanks to TACO DEL MAR®'s pop-up beach, which prominently took over Westlake Park and offered Seattleites an afternoon of beach volleyball, sandcastle building, live DJ action and a chance to catch some welcomed rays with their toes in the sand.
The event by TACO DEL MAR® was organized as a thank you to the company's many local fans and to celebrate the sun that's finally arriving in Seattle. All attendees received TACO DEL MAR® swag and coupons to try the restaurant's latest summer sensation, a refreshing Shrimp Tostada.
"We had several hundred people stop by to enjoy the beach today, including a lot of volleyball players and teams who provided great entertainment for the crowds," said Jennifer Nier, Area Development Manager with TACO DEL MAR®. With palm trees waving in the breeze, the volleyball court transformed Westlake Park into an urban beach. More than 150 people took part in pick-up four-on-four volleyball matches. Even the pros got into the action, with participants from local sport leagues and club teams.
