Tagish Advances Mineral Process Test Work

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 12, 2006) - Tagish Lake Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TLG) announces that the Company has awarded a contract for mineral processing test work on the high grade gold-silver Skukum Creek deposit in the Yukon. The objective of this test program is to definitively determine the mineral processing for the zones at Skukum Creek. Previous test work has indicated that flotation of a bulk concentrate, followed by leaching, was the process method of choice.

The testing will also include work on improvement in silver recoveries, whether by leach extraction or other methods. There are excellent silver values in the zones at Skukum Creek that with improved recoveries could dramatically impact on revenues from the project.

These studies will also provide the data and information necessary to establish the process plant flowsheet that will provide over 90 % recovery for gold. The results are expected by early summer.

Current Exploration Program

Extension of the underground workings further into the mountain at Skukum Creek has passed the halfway point in the 300m objective of the current program. This extension will provide the platform for definition drilling of the Rainbow Two zone, and also outlining the Ridge and Kuhn extension zones, indicated by surface drilling.
