Tagish to Prepare Environmental Assessment Report as Part of the Requirements for Production

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2006) - Tagish Lake Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TLG) wishes to report that the Company's environmental consultants, in Richmond and Whitehorse, are completing work on the environmental baseline studies for the Skukum Creek gold-silver deposit. The baseline studies have been ongoing since initiated in 2001. These studies will provide the information and data necessary for the environmental assessment of the Skukum Creek project by regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Regulatory approval is required for production from the Skukum Creek deposit.

When these baseline studies are in hand, the consultants will proceed with preparation of the Environmental Assessment Report. It is expected that the Report will be submitted to the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) and other regulatory authorities by late summer.

Current Exploration Program

Extension of the underground workings further into the mountain at Skukum Creek has reached one third of the 300m objective in the current program. This extension will provide the platform for definition drilling of the Rainbow Two zone, and also to outline the Ridge and Kuhn Extension zones, indicated by surface drilling.
