Taiwan Greater China Fund Announces Annual Meeting Date

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 30, 2008) - The Taiwan Greater China Fund (NYSE: TFC), a diversified closed-end registered investment company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (the "Fund"), announced today that its Board of Trustees has established the date for the Fund's annual meeting of shareholders as Tuesday, June 24, 2008, and set the record date for the annual meeting as Wednesday, May 14, 2008. The Board has nominated Robert P. Parker, who has served as a trustee since 1998, for reelection as a member of the class of trustees whose three-year term of office will expire at the 2011 annual meeting or special meeting in lieu thereof. The Board also nominated Frederick C. Copeland, Jr., who has served as a Trustee since 2004 and has served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees since 2006, for election as a member of the class of trustees whose three-year term of office will expire on the date of the 2011 annual meeting or special meeting in lieu thereof. The Fund is organized for investment in securities of Taiwan issuers by non-Taiwan investors and follows an investment strategy of primarily investing in Taiwan listed companies that derive or expect to derive a significant portion of their revenues from operations in or exports to mainland China.
