TAIPEI, TAIWAN--(Marketwire - Mar 15, 2013) - The 2013 Spring Wave Music and Art Festival, Taiwan's leading brand of outdoor pop concert, will take place on April 5-6 with a star-studded lineup in the southern tourist resort of Kenting, the event's creator said.

The annual Spring Wave event, which drew between 20,000 to 50,000 concert goers every year since 2006, will also hit Singapore and Hong Kong this year, the Friendly Dog Entertainment Co. Ltd. said.

A total of 18 top artists, musicians and pop groups performing mainly Mandarin and Taiwanese songs as well as six well-known DJs will appear in the three concerts.

The Friendly Dog said the 2013 Spring Wave Singapore will be staged at Gardens by the Bay on May 4, marking the first time a Taiwanese music festival is presented abroad.

The Spring Wave's overseas debut will feature Taiwanese rock and roll king Wu Bai, Jam Hsiao, Olivia Ong, Cheer Chen and Zhang Zhen Yue (A Yue) with each performing one hour of their popular hits until 10 p.m.

An electronic music session will follow from 10:45 p.m. led by DJs ATB from Germany, trance musician Jochen Miller from the Netherlands, and Markus Schulz from the United States to rock Singapore through the night.

Jam Hsiao, Cheer Chen and Zhang Zhen Yue will also sing in the 2013 Spring Wave Hong Kong scheduled in July. Details of the Hong Kong concert are yet to be finalized.

Spring Wave has become a must-go for pop music fans, who swarm to Kenting in spring for a feast of music and fun mixed with screams and inspirations.

The concert, which also attracts foreign tourists, was recognized by Taiwan's Tourism Bureau in 2012 as one of the top 10 international-level activities created locally.

On stage at this year's Taiwan festival include Cheer Chen, Zhang Zhen Yue, Hebe, Joanna Wang and Yoga Lin, and top music groups Sodagreen and Chairman, as well as MC Hotdog, DaMouth and MJ116.
