Leon Benoit, Member of Parliament for Vegreville-Wainwright, on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $29,200 in funding through the Celebrate Canada program for 13 local Canada Day celebrations in villages, towns and cities in the riding.

- In total, these celebrations are expected to attract 30,000 participants.
- The Department of Canadian Heritage provides financial support for activities organized on specific days during the Celebrate Canada period from June 21 to July 1.
- Celebrate Canada includes National Aboriginal Day on June 21, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27 and Canada Day on July 1.
