Talent Board Announces Inaugural Candidate Experience Symposium

Event to Gather Forward-Thinking Talent Leaders to Explore Best Practices for Candidate Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 13, 2014) - Talent Board, a non-profit organization focused on the elevation and promotion of a quality candidate experience, today shared details of its first-ever Candidate Experience Symposium, which will take place at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago on September 19, 2014.

During the inaugural Candidate Experience Symposium, many of the foremost industry experts in candidate experience will gather together to discuss best practices to improve the recruiting function and the candidate experience. Attendees will hear the results of the 2014 CandE Awards program and learn from those winning organizations about the innovative practices, technologies and strategies that enabled them to become CandE winners. As a result, attendees will learn practical, actionable tips they can bring back to their companies to enhance their candidate experience.

Over the last four years, Talent Board's main goal has been to recognize excellence in candidate experience through its annual Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards. This program enables participating organizations to understand how their own candidates rate their experiences in applying to the company, while providing benchmarks on how their recruiting, application and onboarding processes compare to those of their peers. As more employers recognize the value in delivering a positive and rewarding candidate experience, in terms of attracting top talent, increasing engagement and enhancing the company's reputation as an employer of choice, the CandE Awards have grown tremendously. Not only has the program attracted increased participation each year, but it has also expanded beyond North America, with programs now in the U.K. and Australia.

The inaugural Candidate Experience Symposium includes a comprehensive agenda of informative and engaging sessions, designed to provide attendees with unrivaled insight from thought leaders on the value of the candidate experience. Highlights of these sessions include:

  • Keynote address from HR industry luminary Libby Sartain on how HR leaders can guide their organizations through the competitive hiring landscape by treating the candidate pool more like consumers and less like employees.
  • Informative panel discussions from past CandE Award winners on the subjects of "Candidates as Customers and the Revenue Impact," "Building a Business Case for Candidate Care" and "Measured Progress and Defined Success."
  • High-level round table sessions exploring topics such as "Cost of a Negative Candidate Experience," "Candidate Experience and the Business Value" and "Defining Success in Your Candidate Experience."

"The overwhelming response to this year's Candidate Experience Awards, which saw more than 170 participating organizations and more than 95,000 candidate surveys, demonstrates that employers and job seekers alike recognize the importance of a positive candidate experience," said Elaine Orler, Talent Board co-founder and chairman, and CEO of Talent Function. "The Candidate Experience Symposium was developed to share success stories, collaborate on what defines a stellar candidate experience while providing attendees the tools to make the improvements within their organizations' recruiting processes to meet the expectations of candidates as a stakeholder in the process."
