Talent Board Honors Excellence in Recruiting at Second Annual Candidate Experience Symposium

Organization Celebrates Winners of North American Candidate Experience Awards, Shares Thought Leadership and Introduces Kevin Grossman as Vice President

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 13, 2015) - Talent Board, a non-profit organization focused on the promotion and data benchmark research of a quality candidate experience, today shared details of its highly successful Candidate Experience Symposium, held at the Hilton Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas from September 30 to October 2, 2015, and announced the appointment of recruiting technology expert Kevin Grossman as vice president of its North American program.

"More employers around the world are recognizing a simple fact: candidate experience matters," said Elaine Orler, Talent Board co-founder and chairman, and CEO of Talent Function. "Our second annual Candidate Experience Symposium explored this idea in-depth, providing attendees with the insight on what they can do improve the entire recruiting continuum. As a result, they can implement these innovative strategies at their organizations and treat their candidates with respect, build a more positive employer brand and attract the best talent possible."

The Symposium, attended by over 200 people, recognized excellence in recruiting while connecting attendees with the innovative ideas, techniques and technologies to transform their talent acquisition processes and deliver an enhanced candidate experience. Among the highlights was the much anticipated Candidate Experience Awards Reception and Banquet, during which the winners of the 2015 North American Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards were announced. During this event, 50 companies were recognized for providing a stellar candidate experience, as determined by the survey responses of their own candidates.

The Symposium also honored the hard work and dedication of Denni Oravec, Talent Board's executive program director for North America, who is retiring after managing the program for four of the last five years. Oravec has been instrumental in the CandE Awards' success and continued growth and has played a key role in building it into the highly regarded program that it is today.

Attendees of the Symposium also participated in dynamic sessions led by a roster of engaging speakers from across the talent acquisition space as well as former CandE Award winners sharing their expertise. These included intriguing keynotes from the industry's premier experts and thought leaders in recruitment and hiring: Molly Fletcher, CEO of The Molly Fletcher Company; writer, filmmaker and hourly job explorer Heath Padgett; and China Gorman, chair of the WorkHuman Advisory Board at Globoforce.

In addition to the well-received Symposium, Talent Board continues to build momentum, expanding the CandE Awards program to the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. The organization was also named to LAROCQUE Inc.'s #hrwins Top HR Companies to Watch list for the Talent Acquisition category, due to how it has called attention to the crucial area of talent acquisition that has needed to be addressed for decades.

Along with this growth and increasing recognition, Talent Board also made a new appointment to its leadership team; Kevin Grossman, a leading expert in the HR and recruiting technology fields, has joined the organization as vice president. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of the CandE Awards program and other Talent Board activities in North America.

Grossman brings more than 16 years of domain experience to this role, working with technology providers offering talent management, talent sourcing and acquisition, video interviewing, assessment, background screening, and training and development solutions. He is also a top social influencer in leadership, human resources, talent management and recruiting, and has been a preeminent HR business blogger since 2004. In addition, he co-founded the TalentCulture 'world of work' community and co-hosts the popular TalentCulture #TChat Show, a simultaneous radio show and twitter chat. Grossman previously served as product marketing director, Total Talent Acquisition for PeopleFluent, and has held leadership positions with BraveNew, Ventana Research and HRmarketer.com.

"Kevin's unrivaled expertise on the subjects of talent acquisition and candidate experience, combined with a strong following in the space and genuine enthusiasm for the subject at hand, make him an ideal choice to serve as vice president of Talent Board," said Orler. "Given his prolific knowledge of recruiting and talent acquisition technology and demonstrated concern with helping companies improve their processes, I can think of no one better suited to guide the future of the CandE Awards than Kevin. I am thrilled to welcome him to the team and confident he will take the program to the next level."

"The need to transform their recruiting tactics and elevate the candidate experience should be a pressing concern for any company," said Grossman. "The fact is, we're all perpetual candidates as well as potential customers regardless of generation or gender, skill set or experience, and negative experiences could add up to millions of dollars of lost revenue. I look forward to using the platform of the CandE Awards and research data to help more organizations uncover the process changes and tools that enable them to deliver on this goal. I am very excited to join Talent Board during this time of high growth and further advance the organization's mission of elevating the role of a positive candidate experience."

Grossman will also represent Talent Board at the 18th Annual HR Technology Conference & Expo, taking place at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino October 18 - 21, 2015. Additional information about the Candidate Experience Awards can be accessed at: http://www.thetalentboard.org.
