Talk About Curing Autism Announced as Sheckler Foundation's Round 8 "Be the Change" Recipient

SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwired - November 07, 2016) - After days of rallying and voting, Ryan Sheckler and the Sheckler Foundation are pleased to announce, Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) as its eighth "Be the Change" recipient today. As the beneficiary, TACA will receive a $10,000 grant and support from the Sheckler Foundation to help fund several autism-friendly family events that provide children affected by autism with a safe and supportive environment to engage in activities with other children facing similar circumstances.

TACA wants to see all children affected by autism living the fullest life possible and reaching their highest potential. TACA provides access to information, resources and support through education, awareness events and family supportive services to assist families in improving physical, social and emotional outcomes for their children with autism.

With a $10,000 financial grant and support from the Sheckler Foundation, TACA will host autism-friendly family events to help benefit the lives of children and families living with autism in our community. At TACA family events, children with autism are celebrated, accepted and encouraged to participate in fun, interactive, autism-friendly activities with others facing similar circumstances. These events include the TACA Annual Family Picnic, Volcom's Everyone Can Skate Day, Sensitive Santa Holiday Event and Fall Festival.

Ryan Sheckler's "Be the Change" initiative was created to help injured action sports athletes and children in need. Since starting in 2008, the Sheckler Foundation has been paying it forward to help numerous individuals and causes. The past seven "Be the Change" winners include: The Port Gamble S'Klallam, Peach's Neet Feet, Ashley Wade Foundation, Hope for Carter, Gamerosity, Andrew Hale's Road to Recovery and COPING MECHANISM.
