Talligent Unveils OpenBook Software, a Next Generation Cloud Metering & Billing Software at OpenStack Summit

Talligent to Demo OpenBook Software and Speak on Panel on Cloud Deployment Economics at OpenStack Summit, April 15-18th

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2013) -  Talligent, a provider of next generation cloud metering and billing solutions, announces the availability of their flagship product OpenBook Software that offers a unique end-to-end application and infrastructure metering, with support for OpenStack APIs. Talligent will unveil OpenBook Software at the OpenStack Summit, April 15-18th in Portland, Oregon.

"With cloud deployments accelerating, there is a pressing need for visibility into resource utilization data to ensure appropriate cost control as well as monetization of the cloud," said Garima Thockchom, CEO of Talligent. "OpenBook Software has been architected from the ground up for the cloud to deliver unique end-to-end tenant-to-infrastructure and workload-to-infrastructure metering for cloud cost measurement as well as monetization purposes."

Talligent OpenBook is available for two use cases:

OpenBook Intelligent Cloud Metering: OpenBook's intelligent cloud metering engine offers granular visibility into cloud resource utilization and cost. With an intuitive graph view of cloud tenant resources and their utilization, OpenBook allows cloud administrators high-level overview of utilization/cost or to drill down to specific detail of utilization/cost associated with a tenant or workload.

OpenBook Intelligent Cloud Billing: For cloud service providers, the OpenBook Billing Engine offers a sophisticated cloud billing platform, with granular rate plans for various personas of tenants and usage patterns. The OpenBook Billing Engine automates the monetization of the cloud based on any feature of the cloud infrastructure or tenant.

"Talligent is solving a real problem in cloud deployments around mapping cloud workloads and tenants to actual infrastructure usage. Their architecture allows for great flexibility in metering based on any characteristic of the cloud," said Deepak Bhagat, a core member of the TiE Angels, and an expert in cloud technology with long stints at HP and Sun.
