International Leader With Depth of Experience in Research and Education to Support Business Accelerator and Venture Management Firm on Global Expansion Plans

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - Retired Intel Chairman of the Board and CEO, Craig Barrett, Ph.D., has joined the Tallwave Board of Advisors as a senior advisor. Dr. Barrett's global experience and leadership running one of the most innovative companies in the world bring tremendous capabilities to Tallwave, a premier lean business accelerator and venture management firm.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that Roy Vallee, Avnet Executive Chairman of the Board and retired CEO also joined Tallwave's Advisory Board.

A leading advocate for business and education around the world, Dr. Barrett will lend his strategic insights to advising Tallwave on its global expansion plans, according to Tallwave CEO Jeffrey Pruitt. "We are fortunate to have an international business leader of Craig Barrett's caliber to add to our impressive roster of available counsel," said Pruitt. "The extent of his expertise in research and education will support our unique approach to the commercialization of entrepreneurial and early-stage ventures, and help us scale our services globally."

Dr. Barrett joined Intel in 1974 and rose through the engineering ranks to become Intel's fourth president in 1997, chief executive officer in 1998 and chairman of the board in 2005. He is a leading advocate for business and education around the world and has served on numerous influential task forces and boards. Barrett holds a bachelor's, master's and doctorate in materials science from Stanford University, where he was on the faculty for 10 years.

Among numerous appointments in education and commerce several are particularly relevant to Tallwave's global vision for lean business entrepreneurship. Chief among these are Dr. Barrett's appointments by the President of the Russian Federation as International co-chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Council; the Council for Foreign Relations Task Force on U.S. Education Reform and National Security, and the faculty of Thunderbird School of Global Management.

"Leadership in technology has been the foundation for enhancing the productivity of American workers, driving economic growth, enabling advances in medical science and health care and improving our standard of living," said Barrett. "I welcome the opportunity to help build a solid foundation for Tallwave's global growth agenda so that it can continue to champion technology innovators worldwide."
