Tamerlane Ventures Inc.: Geophysics Outlines 36 Targets Warranting Further Work on the Pine Point Lead-Zinc Property

BLAINE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 8, 2005) - Tamerlane Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TAM) announces positive results from geophysical studies. An analysis by Stratagex Geophysical Consultants of Aeroquest Limited's AeroTEM helicopter-borne magnetic and electromagnetic survey of the Company's Pine Point lead-zinc property has determined that there are 36 EM responses worthy of further follow-up work.

Airborne Electromagnetic (EM) Survey

Galena and sphalerite, the two main lead and zinc minerals, respectively, at Pine Point are often accompanied or capped by a marcasite-rich zone. The galena and sphalerite are not responsive to electromagnetic surveys, however the associated marcasite can be weakly responsive.

The results of the helicopter-borne AeroTem and aeromagnetic survey flown by Aeroquest over the Company's large Pine Point property have outlined 36 discrete EM responses meriting further examination, and have provided considerable additional insights into basement, intra-sedimentary and mineralization-associated magnetic features that have likely influenced or controlled lead-zinc mineralization in this world-class Mississippi Valley Type district.

The EM responses are sufficiently favourable that additional analysis of specific geophysical targets is merited, beginning with the seven selected priority EM zones, to determine their likely source characteristics, and to determine final priorities for ground geophysical follow-up work.

Aeromagnetic Survey

The very high quality of the contoured data is noteworthy, enabling confident recognition and delineation of subtle magnetic anomalies in a manner not attained by any prior aeromagnetic survey such as the existing federal-provincial regional coverage.

The vertical magnetic gradient map also enables recognition of otherwise largely invisible weak to very weak magnetic anomalies at intermediate depths. The vertical magnetic gradient data also outline a sizable number of local, minor, near-surface magnetic anomalies, which correlate with many of the open pits that exploited shallow lead-zinc deposits in the past. These very restricted, subtle magnetic anomalies, which would have escaped detection in any prior magnetic survey, likely reflect paramagnetic marcasite. There is also evidence indicating that shallow magnetic features signal greater favourability for mineralization, although the geologic linkage is indirect.

Tamerlane's current focus is to produce a feasibility study on the deposits that were delineated by the previous owners and where the Company's 2005 drill program has confirmed these deposits. The geophysical anomalies will be examined in due course using an Induced Potential (IP) survey.

The assays from the summer drill program on the R-190 deposit are expected to be released in early September. Confirmation assays on samples that analyzed in excess of 30% zinc are currently being completed.
