Tampa Hotel Near Hidden River Park Joins 5K Run for Everyday Blessings, Inc.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL--(Marketwire - Jan 9, 2013) - Making the dash to help kids in need, associates of a prominent hotel near Hidden River Park donned their running gear December 1, 2012 in an effort to raise funds in support of Everyday Blessings, Inc.

While the Fairfield Inn & Suites Tampa North served as a corporate sponsor of the Everyday Blessings, Inc. Inaugural 5K Walk/Run as part of the Marriott brand's continuing dedication to community, associates of this green hotel in North Tampa stepped up as participants to help ensure its success. Aimed at raising funds to benefit Everyday Blessings, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to helping sibling foster children stay together while they await placement, the event drew runners of all ages and skill levels to Siesta Key Beach and was determined a "great success" by the organization.

Katya Sljusar, general manager of the Tampa hotel near University of South Florida led the entourage of associates who participated, which included Matt Berry, guest services manager; Tammy Dixon, director of sales; Gina Vasquez, executive housekeeper; Lourdes Blandon, assistant executive Housekeeper, and Maria Salazar, housekeeper.

Joining the employees in their fund-raising efforts were corporate team of the Fairfield Inn & Suites North Tampa Hotel's parent company, 3H Group Hotels -- Bob and Jessica Dollinger, Mike Deprez, Greg Perry and Lamar Heard, who provided great financial support to the associates in their quest to support the event and Everyday Blessings' mission to nurture foster children who have often been neglected and abused.

Recognizing the importance of providing service to the community in which it does business, the Fairfield Inn & Suites North Tampa Hotel maintains a strong base of community service projects and specifically supports local hospitals such as the Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida Hospital, Shiners Hospital, Florida Orthopedic Institute and the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital by providing special rates to patients and their families. The hotel's support of Everyday Blessings, Inc. will allow the organization to help in addressing the needs of the nearly 2,500 children within Hillsborough County who are in out-of-home care by providing a residential program designed to serve up to 30 children with a normal routine that includes live-in caregivers who provide "family" experiences in a nurturing environment.
