Tango First to Bring Video Calls to Windows Phone Devices

Strikes Partnership With SAMSUNG to Power Video Calling on Upcoming Phones

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 9, 2011) - Tango, the leader in mobile video communications, announced that its free video calling service is available today from the Windows Phone Marketplace. This is the fourth platform release for the 13-month-old service.

Tango is the first video calling service for Windows Phone and supports front facing cameras on the latest devices coming to market. People who have updated their current phones with the latest version of Windows Phone, code named "Mango," can also use Tango to connect with their family and friends.

"Being a mobile-centric company, it was important for us to support Windows Phone as we believe it will be the next big platform in the smartphone market," said Uri Raz, cofounder and CEO of Tango. "Microsoft really knows how to welcome their developers and the team we worked with was instrumental in making this happen."

"Using Windows Phone's best in class developer tools, the engineers at Tango were able to quickly build and release an app that serves as a great example of the quality apps and games currently available from Windows Phone Marketplace," said Todd Brix, senior director, Windows Phone Marketplace, Microsoft Corp. "Video calling is a killer app for mobile and companies like Tango play a valuable role in extending the potential of our mobile platform, which now includes hardware with front-facing cameras, to enable even greater innovation," he continued.

Tango for Windows Phone was designed for the platform's metro UI and uses native design elements so Windows Phone users will know exactly how Tango works the first time they use the service. People can easily swipe and scroll through the application making the experience simple and fluid.

Support for Windows Phone gives Tango members the most flexibility to make free phone calls and free video calls to the people that matter most to them regardless of what device they own.
