Tarari Announces T10 Technology -- Breakthrough New Silicon Architecture

Single Chip 10Gbps Platform for Deep Content Inspection Performance

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 5, 2007 -- RSA Conference -- Tarari Inc., the leader in deep content inspection silicon, today announced its new T10 Technology Silicon Platform that allows OEMs to create lower cost, higher performance security and networking platforms.

The new technology is being shown to OEM customers and partners at the Tarari booth at the RSA conference (# 2437) this week at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The new Tarari T10 Technology completely eliminates the need to add expensive, exotic memories such as SRAM, RLDRAM or TCAM to store "inspection rules" which can result in a 50% cost reduction in overall silicon costs. Instead, the new Tarari T10 silicon technology uses embedded or very low cost DRAM memory. This significantly reduces cost and power consumption and it also expands the number of rules that can be used from today's 50,000-100,000 rules to well over millions of rules. Since all rules are evaluated simultaneously, million rule systems running at 10Gbps can far exceed one trillion matches per second.

A key capability of the new Tarari T10 Technology is its "cut-through" processing function, which reduces latency by 10 fold since data is transferred immediately to the content processor without intermediate buffering. Streaming applications such as Intrusion Prevention (IPS) and XML Threat Management (XTM) can now process for matches on the very first byte of a packet and need no longer wait for the whole packet to arrive.

Tarari offers ASICs, production boards, and embedded software components that are designed to snap in to networking, appliance, blades, and server systems.
