Tarari Extends Support for the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 30, 2007 -- Tarari, Inc. today announced that based on its close working relationship as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, additional Tarari acceleration technology will also be ported to the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system.

Tarari's Network Security products (deployed by Tarari's OEM Partners) already support the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating system. Tarari's Network Security offerings provide "deep packet and data processing" to help ensure that security threats such as viruses and intrusions are detected before damage can be done.

The next Tarari product to be supported will be the Tarari Encoding Accelerator for Windows Media™ (TEA). TEA has been designed and developed in conjunction with Microsoft to speed up the encoding of both Standard and High Definition SMPTE VC-1 video content and currently runs on Microsoft Windows XP™ and Windows 2003 Server™. Now Tarari's TEA product will also be ported to Windows Vista™ in order to enable a more compelling HD creation experience on both the Windows Vista and Windows XP Media Center™ platforms.

"Tarari has been a dedicated Microsoft Windows Media Partner for years, winning the 2006 OEM Microsoft Partner of the Year award for Technology Innovation," said Jim Wilson, CTO Microsoft Technologies at Tarari. "The integration of our silicon engineering team with Microsoft's Windows Media CODEC team has allowed Tarari to further map out an acceleration development strategy that will keep our joint team on the leading edge of video encoding acceleration."

"Tarari congratulates Microsoft on the major milestone of releasing Windows Vista™!" said Randy Smerik, president/CEO and co-founder of Tarari, "It is a very important part of our strategic plan to stay closely aligned with Microsoft's roadmap for Vista and Longhorn Server. We will continue to stay close to Microsoft to leverage its expertise and position in the marketplace to grow our WMV and Network Security and XML businesses on the Windows platforms."

See Tarari's Network Security and XML products next week at the RSA 2007 Conference, (Booth 2437) in San Francisco and Tarari's TEA product at NAB in April in Las Vegas.
