Target to Commence Drilling on Bradshaw Gold Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) -

TARGET EXPLORATION AND MINING CORP. (TSX VENTURE:TEM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that a 1100 metre (m) drill program in 9 to 11 holes has been planned for the Bradshaw Gold Project, located approximately 300 kilometres east of Vancouver between Hedley and Olalla.

A drill contract has been signed and drilling is scheduled to begin in mid-July 2008. The current program of drilling and trenching is designed to test for extensions of the mineralized zones associated with silicified and brecciated chert as intersected in the few holes drilled in the mid 1980s by the previous operator. These zones are highlighted by 0.78 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 62.2 m and 4.3 g/t gold over 5.1 m. This program will also target coincident gold-in-soil and induced polarization (IP) anomalies identified through the 2007 summer program, which included geological mapping, soil geochemical surveys, IP and magnetometer surveys.

"We are very excited to start drilling at Bradshaw and testing the principal target areas identified by our 2007 exploration program", says Stewart Wallis, President of the Company. "Bradshaw's close proximity to one of BC's largest former gold producers makes it a highly prospective property."

The Bradshaw Property is located near the southern end of the Hedley mining camp, less than 10 kilometres southeast of the Nickel Plate/Mascot Gold Mine. The Property has previously demonstrated the ability to host both high-grade multi-ounce vein mineralization, as well as broad widths of supportive lower grade material, with both styles of mineralization occurring in the handful of previous holes drilled on the property.
