TargetSpot Launches Audio Ads on CBS Radio, AOL Radio and Yahoo! Music Mobile Apps Powered by Radio.com

TargetSpot Expands Mobile Inventory on iPhone, iPad and Android Devices

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 18, 2011) - TargetSpot Inc., the nation's largest digital audio advertising network, announced it would begin selling in-stream audio ads for CBS RADIO stations available on the Radio.com, AOL Radio, and Yahoo! Music mobile applications. In addition, TargetSpot will deliver audio ads to CBS RADIO stations available on the Radio.com iPad mobile application.

"Mobile radio is the next frontier for listeners in their consumption of music and audio programming," said Eyal Goldwerger, CEO of TargetSpot. "TargetSpot's Internet and mobile radio advertising network gives digital advertisers the opportunity to surround their target customer with messaging at home, at work, in the car, or at the gym, no matter what device they are using to listen."

"As a result of the wealth of new technologies available in the marketplace, our current businesses are seeing tremendous benefits and growth," said David Goodman, president, CBS Interactive Music Group, whose division developed the full suite of mobile apps. "Audio advertising is one of the most powerful tools a marketer can use to deliver their message. Being able to offer clients that opportunity not just over the air but online as well places us in a unique position over our competitors."

The mobile radio market has exploded in recent months. The Radio.com, AOL Radio and Yahoo! Music iPhone applications have more than 14 million downloads combined since their releases, with users listening to an average of 22 minutes per session. According to The Nielsen Company national report on mobile insights from June 2010, approximately 45% of users of both Android and iPhone devices have streamed music or mobile radio on their device in the last 30 days. Additionally, Arbitron's annual The Infinite Dial report from 2010 showed that 40% of young Americans (12-24) polled would listen specifically to radio on their cell phones and a significant percentage are looking forward to listening to Internet radio in their cars.

AOL Radio, Yahoo! Music, and Radio.com apps feature a combined 600 plus stations spanning more than 25 genres of music and 130 radio stations from across the U.S. Listeners have access to hundreds of music stations plus a variety of popular news/sports/talk stations, including those from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta such as 1010WINS, KROQ, and WFAN. The mobile applications allow users to add presets for instant access to their favorite songs, tag favorite stations and songs for easy access later, detect location to provide the nearest CBS Radio station, share stations with their friends and find songs they have listened to recently.

TargetSpot will deliver in-stream ads within the mobile applications. Using the TargetSpot network, advertisers can target mobile radio listeners based upon a variety of factors including geography, time of day and personal listening preferences.
