Targus Welcomes David E. Winkle as New Vice President of Retail Sales

The Addition of Winkle Paves the Way for Continued Success by Redefining Targus' U.S. Retail Sales Strategy

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - Targus® Inc., maker of the world's top-selling laptop computer cases and accessories, announced today that it has appointed David E. Winkle as the new Vice President of Retail Sales for the U.S. In his new role, David will lead the U.S. sales team to increase revenue and drive sales strategy and execution.

David was formerly with Logitech International where he was Director of National Accounts. There he was responsible for sales and profitability of the National Retail Channel. While at Logitech, he built a successful team of National Account Managers to lead strategic alignment and double digit growth in accounts such as Best Buy, Staples, and Office Depot, among others. He achieved several business and process change initiatives, including the creation of a "sell through culture," and a strategic account planning process.

"David's proven track record in building lasting relationships with consumer businesses will make him a strong asset to the Targus team," stated Bob Shortt, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Targus. "His background and history of success make him the perfect person to lead our sales efforts as we continue down our path of rapid growth. We're very excited to have him on board."

David's previous experience includes building a new go to market strategy for the Office Superstore Channel and strong revenue growth during his tenure at Fellowes, Inc. A near twenty year career at Eastman Kodak took David from account executive to vice president and general manager of strategic accounts where he assumed responsibilities in retail marketing, strategic planning and outbound product marketing for multiple product lines. In his final role, David was responsible for the P&L of over $400 million consumer products and services. He began his career out of college at IBM as a marketing representative. David earned his M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and his B.S. from Miami University of Ohio.

"I am honored to take the helm of Targus' retail sales initiatives and apply the experience I've gained over the years to help the company surpass its goals," said David Winkle. "It's exciting to have the opportunity to work for such a reputable company. I'm entering this role with excitement and anticipation of positive developments, and looking forward to this next chapter in my career."
