Tarsis Doubles the Size of the MOR Property Claims

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 16, 2007) - Tarsis Capital Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TCC) ("Tarsis") is pleased to announce that it has increased the size of its MOR property to approximately 4,500 hectares by staking an additional 118 claims. The MOR property hosts VMS style mineralization and is located 35 kilometres east of Teslin in the southern Yukon.

Tarsis encountered significant massive sulphide intervals in each of the four diamond drill holes completed on the property during its 2007 exploration program. Results were discussed in a press release issued on September 26, 2007 and both the drill results and core photographs are detailed on the Tarsis website (www.tarsis.ca).

Highlights included 5.46 meters of 1.20% copper, 2.85% zinc, 1.356 g/t gold and 55.8 g/t silver from drill hole MOR 07-03 and 7.80 meters of 1.18% copper, 1.52% zinc, 1.256 g/t gold and 52.2 g/t silver from drill hole MOR 07-02.

The additional staking covers a series of preliminary VTEM (Versatile Time Domain Electro-Magnetic) anomalies outlined during recent airborne surveys. Some of the anomalies occur along the inferred trend of the sulphide horizons encountered in the drill holes.

President and CEO, Marc Blythe, states, "The VTEM system appears to be a very useful tool for targeting VMS style deposits. This is the second time we've added to our land position on this property this year. We're obviously very encouraged by our initial drill success on the property and are planning a much larger program for the spring."

Mr. Bill Wengzynowski, P.Eng., is the Qualified Person for the project as defined by NI 43-101. Mr Wengzynowski has reviewed the technical content of this news release.
