TASER Receives TASER X3 Order for Full Deployment at Arizona Department of Public Safety

1000 Units Is Largest Single TASER X3 Order

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - January 6, 2011) - TASER International, Inc. (NASDAQ: TASR) today announced that it received an order of 1000 TASER® X3™ electronic control devices (ECDs) and related accessories from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). This order represents the largest single purchase of TASER X3 ECDs and is considered full deployment by the Arizona DPS.

"The Arizona DPS has had a positive experience with the TASER X26 over the last several years," said Assistant Director Lieutenant Colonel Jack Hegarty, Assistant Director (Highway Patrol) of the Arizona DPS. "We believe the TASER X3 system and its enhanced performance and accountability features will continue this success and our commitment to safely serving and protecting the public. Often our patrolmen are on the road in extremely remote locations without backup. Providing the TASER X3 to all of our officers will help keep them safe and will continue to reduce injuries to officers and arrestees," said Hegarty.

"The TASER X3 improves on the effectiveness, safety and performance of the TASER X26," said Tom Smith, Chairman and founder of TASER International. "The semi-automatic, multiple-shot capability increases officer safety through the ability to recover from a missed shot or even simultaneously stop up to three separate subjects. The Pulse Calibration System improves both effectiveness and safety margins by ensuring more precise electrical charge delivery. Other technological advances provide the ability to store and retrieve more information and diagnostic analysis on the use."

The TASER X3 enhances use of force accountability with the TASER X3's Trilogy™ Log which stores the electric characteristics of every pulse emitted from the X3 and can determine if the charge was delivered to a subject, arced into the air as a warning, if probes missed the target, or even if the wires broke or some other factor interrupted charge delivery to the subject.

The order shipped in the 4th Quarter of 2010. With this order, the Company estimates that 4th Quarter 2010 sales will be approximately $22 million.
